Laser Treatment for Rosacea and Diffuse Redness
We are proud to offer the latest laser treatment for rosacea in Beaverton, Oregon, at Living Well Institute for Skin and Laser. Rosacea is a chronic condition characterized by flushing or redness of the face. While distinct vessels can be part of the condition, the overall redness is caused by vessels that are too small to see individually. While this is typically a harmless cosmetic condition, patients can complain of heating or discomfort when they flush. The condition is more common in Caucasians, affects women more than men, and is most common between the ages of 30 and 60. Triggers of rosacea episodes can include strenuous exercise, temperature extremes, alcohol, caffeine, and spicy foods. Mild cases are often not treated, or simply covered with cosmetics while steps are taken to avoid the triggering mechanisms. Watch the Excel V laser for Rosacea on The Doctors, HERE.
For patients that suffer from rosacea, laser treatment is often a good option that targets the vessels associated with the disease. With sufficient treatments, much of the redness can be removed. Although an effective option to treat the symptoms of rosacea, there is no cure for the disease. Therefore periodic re-treatments may be required.
